PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography)

What Is the Difference Between PET/CT, CT, and SPECT/CT?
Both PET/CT and SPECT/CT combine functional imaging, which shows how your body is working, with anatomical imaging, which shows the structure of your body. The key difference is the type of tracer used: PET/CT uses one type of radiotracer, while SPECT/CT uses another, making each better suited for different types of cancers.
CT alone provides detailed images of your body’s anatomy but does not offer functional information about tissue activity or metabolism.
